UNITED ALPINE.
Fkiday, May 2. The result of the general cleaningup for the months' crushing from No. 6 level, and which ended on the 26 th nit., was a. yield of 422nzs of retorted gold from 675 tons of stone. The total quantity of amalgham from all sources was 1160 ounces. ThisTetunn is fully satisfactory, and must stamp the Company's prospects, from this forward as being vastly improved, besides furnishing the centainty . that the reef is a. thoroughly, payable one. The tributers are now crushing at the battery, and ' after, their pascel is through, the Company will resume. In the mine there is nothing very different to report. The reef iv the north end of No. 6 level maintains its usual massive character, although there is a hard rock formation, which appears to interfere in places with its regularity. Still driving smith on stone which appears to have an inclination to the east, and this continuing will bring the drive pretty close alongside the level.
