(from our own correspondent. ) christchurch, 7;. It is stated that a glass-blowing establishment is to be started shortly at Kaiapoi. Mr Joseph Gibson, a candidate for St. Albans, addressed a fairly attended meeting at Merivale, and received a vote of thanks and confidence. He opposes Sir J. Yogel. Mr Wakefield addressed the electors of Selwyn last night, and said he would assist in the formation of a new moderate party wjth Sir J,.. Yogel as leader, and excluding Atkinson and Grey. A ; vote of thanks and confidence was carried by an overwhelming majority, an amendment of thanks only being negatived. Wellington, 8. Mr Edward Shaw addressed the electors ofTeAroa last night. There was a very large audience. He spoke for about two hours, and received a unanimous vote of confidence. *
