MR MENTEATH AT GREY VALLEY.

Notwithstanding a downpour of rain there was a numerous attendance of all the miners of the district at the Public Hallj Granville, on Wednesday, Bth instant, to hear Mr Menteath : The fact of the gentlemen coming unattended by any patron, pledge, or party, as a perfect stranger, attracted a number from long distances. Mr Mathias Willing occupied the chair. Mr Menteath who, contrary to all expectations, we may say, kept the audience from beginning to «ud without an interval of interruption in one continued state of interest. After listening to the gentleman's clear and independent views on gold mining industries and the changes required, which, by the way, is quite a specialty in which he is thoroughly posted up in, and after his replies to numerous questions, which were politely, satisfactorily and clearly enunciated by him, a vote of confidence was propose by Mr David Jessnp and seconded by Mr ; That Mr Meuteath is a fit and proper person to represent this electorate in Parliament, at the coming election. Mr .Menteath has every reason to be proud of the cordial, and unanimous support he will receive from this district.
