GOLDEN TREASURE.
Since the appointment of Mr Gilbert to thp. position of mine manager the reef has been opened out upon at a depth of 50ft. be-low the level already started. This will give something like 80ft of backs to the top of the winze, and leave atill about 90ft of stone underfoot to the main level. Some alterations are still going on at the battery, and these will probably be completed during the incoming week, when crushing operations will be commenced.
