INKERMAN.

me natrery was started on rnursday last, but shortly after a stoppage had to be made, one of the teeth of the pinion wheel having given way. The damage having been repaired a fresh start wus made on Friday when shortly after other tooth in the wheel gave way and the machinery had to be stopppd. Those breakages are attributed to the faulty design of the battery, and before proceeding further the directors have deemed it advisable to call in the aid of experts to make the required alterations. These will probably occupy a week or ten days, softer which no further annoyance or delay will be likely to arise.
