INANGAHUA COUNTY COUNCIL. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE MURRAY RIDING. pENTLEMEN.— Being again a Candidate to represent your interests in the forthcoming Council, I beg to lay before you the following brief facts, upon which I base my claim to a renewal of your confidence. During the year from March 1883 to March 1884 the Council has disbursed upon roads and tracks in the County the sum of about £20,000, of wbich amount £6,700, or about one-third of the total sum, has been expended in the Murray Riding. It is due to my efforts that the residents of the south end of Black's Point township are now enabled to obtain a title to their holdings. At my instigation the land, formerly a Reserve, has been thrown open for occupation, and as soon as the District Surveyor can complete the survey of the sections the Crown Grants will bo issued to tho occupiers at the upset price, I also moved for the construction of a road to connect the Ajax with the main road at the head of Murray Creek, and, after a good deal of opposition, carried a resolution approving of the work, and upon the strength of that resolution tenders are now being called for the construction of the work. As it is my intention to address you personally on the subject, it is unnecessary for me to here particularise further. I claim, however, that throughout my term of office I have discharged my duty to you with attention and diligence, and with no small advantage to the Riding, which it is my own interest to push ahead. I am Yours Obediently, JOHN C. CRAIG. INANGAHUA COUNTY COUNCIL. MURRAY RIDING. 4 MEETING of the ELECTORS will be held at Lloyd's Hotel, Black's Point, on MONDAY EVENING next, 10th INSTANT, at 8 o'clock, to decide which of two Candidates running on the same ticket shall contest the seat.
