9 ' (FKOM OVA o*l* COKRK3PONDXXT.) WELtINOTON, 15. Sixteen year-dago an undiscovered robbery of te.v*Sery took place from the Camp Hot«p Milton. A few days ago Mr Julius, who was then proprietor, received a parcel from Sydney containing the jewellery, and £5 10s in money to cover the value of any missing. The writer regretted that circumstances had prevented the earlier restitution of the property. Auckland. 28. Mr Powell, a boarding-honße keeper, with his two children, aged 8 and 6 years and a man named Daniells wr re coming to town from Lu *as Creek this morning in an open boat, and when off Kauri Point a squall struck the boat and it capsized. Powtll seizing an oar managed to swim ashore, but Daniells aud the children were drowned. Professor Martin Swallow wascenmitted for trial to-day on three charges of indecent assajlt. Bail was allowed himself in £100, and two surities of -230 each.
