OPEN COLUMN.
I Our columns are open to the dhru.vsion of all matters of public intercut, but writ re in no war/ identified with ike views of our correspondents. (To the Editor Inangahua Timks. Sir. — I have in former days voted and stuck by any man (no matter what creed or nationality) whom I thought honest and deserviug of public positions. Now, having proved a certain clas3 arc thoroughly imbued with a party feeling and will not study the mass, I think ittime to rise in opposition and see if a change of government will benefit the County in general, so I hope every Protestant will stick to liis colours at the coming election, and divide their votes with Messrs Menteath and Campbell for unity is strength. I do not think it necessary to go into details of the shortcomings of the present members. All I say is let us try to improve on the position of the Council as it is. I am &c:, Fair Play.
