THE REEFTON ELECTION.
«, (To tub Editor, Inaxoahua Timbs.) Sih. - I sluMild like to kunw where your •' veracious " contemporary obtained the information ho gives in his Saturday's issue regarding the recent polling at i Reefton. He says that Mr Brennan's | candidature was entirely unaffected by the j introduction of the uucnrolled miners i right as n voting element." What about ' the female voters. Where they rallied up by Mr Brennnti's supporters to vote for the opposition ? He says Mr Brennati polled within one of the number of { unrolled electors polled at the previous election ; where did he get this information ? He speaks with great confidence. Does he want us to believe that he was the Returning Officer. Then a^ain as to the plumpers; he takes eleven off Mr Breuuan's total and adds them to Mr Meuteath's and Mr Campbell. Does he think he canhood-wiuk Mr Patterson by doing this ? Ho says again "Of Mr Brennan's plumpers thirteen wore recorded by voters differing from him in creed^inl nationality." One would think from this that he had all the ballot papers spread out before him and was holding a post mortem inquiry upon them. 1 am &c, Elector.
