Engineer instructed to repair bank of Murray creek. The Chairman was instructed to write to the Minister of Lands re construction of Cannibal Gorge track. The Chairman was instructed to com mmiicate with the town clerk, Kumara re erection of a home for destitute people. t*ro;nmed by Owen Lynch that Mr 'iitrick Rrcnnan be appointed Chairman of the Tiiaiiijahua County Council, and seconded i>v Dniiel M'Ginley — Carried. From Mr Connolly, Mr Stout, Mr and Mr Travels re miner's rights, &c, Fr*ni Survey Department, Wellington, re Cannibal Gorge track &c. From Under-Secretary of Public Works re bridge over Left Hand Branch, also ro Newt«>n bridge and for widening main road. Proposed by Mr Twohill that the Executive Cominititee be deputed to deal with Hugh Crags contract directly the w.isjineer returns. Seconded by Mr M* Ginleyand carried. Proposed by Mr Twohill that the chairman receive a salary of £'200 per annum, snoh salary to date from 2<>t:h November 1884, seconded by Mr M'Ginley and carried. Proposed by Mr Crv.-y that the. Enrrt'ieor inspect and report on the roa I t>» Mn>'>tia. Pnsrineer instructed to inspect th« road leading to the Oven reefs, and that hs expend t"3O thereon, nlso to inspect tlw track up the Matakitaka. Proposed bj' Mr M'Ginley thnt the Enstiiesr inspect the Landing Creek track with the vrew of reparing the culverts and bridges thereon. Knuineer instructed to report <»n tho practicability of erecting footbridge over Larry's Creek. Instructions eiven to have a box drain placed in hnrch street, Capleston. The accounts w.;re then presented. Proposed by Mr Twohill that the accounts as rend and corrected be passed for payment except C. Mil-fin's account which was referred to the Executive Committee with power to oral with the matter. Seconded by Mr Williams and carried.
