BEEFTON HOSPITAL.
The monthly meeting of the Re«fton ( Hospital Committee was held at the Southern Cross Hotel on Wednesday ] evenio^pEtbrnary 4th 1885. - ] Present: — Messrs Bowman, (chair), ' Cohen, Connolly, Twehill and Patterson. The minutes of the previous ; meeting were read and confirmed. The Surgeon Snpevintendent re- i ported that 14 indoor and 8 outdoor i patients had been treated during the ' month, and that the house work was ! now so great that a female assistant had to he employed. The Secretary reported that in accordance with the resolution passed at | a previous meeting plans had been \ prepared with estimated cost of centre . hutlding which had been submitted to the committee and forwarded through Mr Menteath M.H.R., to the Hon. the Colonial Secretary, with an application for a grant towards the erection of same, and also an application to Dr Grabhani, Inspector of Hospitals, asking him to assist our application he knowing the necessity for the addi. ions. The visiting committee reported everything satisfactory at the Hospital ; that the House Steward had been instructed to procure an assistant for the | house work peuding confirmation by the General Committee. Accounts amounting to LBO 6s were passed for payment. Proposed by Mr Connolly, seconded by Mr Patterson and carried — That in . accordance with the recommendation j of the Surgeon Superintendent and the Visiting Committee, that the House Stewart be authorised to procure the necessary assistance. Proposed by Mr Connolly, seconded by Mr Twohill and carried — That a depntatton of the members pie pent interview the Premier re application for building grant. Visiting Committee — Messrs Connolly, Lee and Macquarrie.
