Wealth of Nations. —2ol.o3 of amal j gam from the plates, 159 tons. ! WEALTH OF NATIONS. J The first scraping ovpr the crushing I from the newly opened low level tool; I place to-day, when 201ozs. of amalgam ' was taken from the plates alone. Th*3 j quantity of stone crushed to date waj loOtons, and when it is remembered that the plates were new, and would 1 therefore retain a considerable quantity of amalgam, the return must be regarded as highly satisfactory. Tiif stoping is still being continued south, the stone showing very strong. Owinf j to part of the machinery being required j for sawiug timber, the stampers art j not running full time, but as the j timber contract will be completed it; j the course of a few weeks, the full j strength of the battery will then bt j utilised.
