A very hard bar has been encountered in tho tunnel, and the progress has therefore been somewhat slower tlian usual. A change of country is however, expected in the course of a f«'W feet, and as the face of the tunnel is now approaching sour; of the known lines of payable rwef wurked in Mnrra v Creek, the progress of the tunnel ht'iic-efortli will be wntehril with interest.
