The tender of Donald Mnnroe has been accepted by the Directors of tha Keep-it-Dark Company, for the erection of berdans an I buil-liug. To-day, being Easter Mon-'ar, will be observed as a holiday at the nu : lie offices, banks, and baling business i»la--es in town. The Reefton Athletic Club will inaugurate their annual gathering at the race course, and as there is every prospect of glorious weather, a large attendance may be expected on the ground. To the other attractions of the occasion will be that of dancing, the services of the Black's Puint Baml having been seccured for that purpose. Owing to the number of events tn be got off the sports will commence punctually at noon, the procession to the ground leaving a few minutes earlier. The concert in aid of the Church of England 'Sunday Schorr Building Fund will bo held in the Schoi-t-bfooin, Bnller road, this evening. The programme is a very attraetive one, and the atten dauue will be very large. • In the Magistrate's Court on Saturday last the hearing of the petition against the election of Mr Menteath was concluded. The scrutiny of the ballot papers resulted in a tie between Messrs'Brennan and Campbell, and the casting vote being given for the latter, Messrs Menteath and Campbell were declared elected as members of the Coutjcil for the Riding of Reefton.
