The fine weather of the past few weeks has greatly favored the prose cution of all the surface works, the whole of which are now in a very forward state. The excavation of the chamlter is well under way, the second set being now in, and the work of driving for the reef will be started at once. A mnch needed piece of road in the vicinity is now under construction, and will b- finished by Thursday next, when the wire rope and castings will he got up. The enlargement of the water-race was completed some time ago.
