The Inangahua Times, PUBLISHED TRI-WEEKLY. MONDAY, JUNE 8, 1885.
The New Zealand £1,500,00 loan has been floated upon what may be considered to be very satisfactory terms. The loan was issued at 4 per cent, with a minimun of £99, and nearly five times the amount was subscribed. Tenderers at £100 3s 6d will obtain 82 percent of thp allotment, and those above that will receive in fnll. The last £4,000,000 4 per cent, loan issued by Victoria brought £100 13s and over, while, on the other hand the Queensland £'2,500,000 loan placed on the London market a short time previously, brought only £97 9s 6d The £1,000,000 4 per cent, loan issued by New Zealand in January last brought £99 6s 6d. The floating of the presont loan has been achieved with marked success, and the excess of the applications is not the least satisfactory part of the transaction as showing that the credit of the Colony is still sound.
