j Tawle, Chemist, Nottingham, England g Wholesale of all the Wholesale House* | Beware of Imitation* . THE BAD AND WORTHLESS. I *re never imitated or counterfeited This is especially true of a faroil; medicine, and it is positive proof tha the remedy imitated is of the highes value. As soon as it had been testa and proved by the whole world tha Hop Bitters was the purest, best, an< most valuable family medicine oi earth, many imitators sprung up, anc began to steal the notices in which thi press and the people of the conntrj had expressed the merits of H. 8., anc in every way trying to induce suffering invalids to use their stuff instead, ex pecting to make moaey on the gooc name of H. B. Many others started nostrums put in a similar style to H 8., with variously devised names ii which the word " Hop "or •? Hops ' were used in a way to induce p«-ort« tc believe they were the name as Ho{ Bitters. All such pretended remedies or cures, no matter what the style di name is, and especially thoce wi h the word •* Hop " or 'Hops " in their uatm or in any way connected with them oi their name, arc imitations or counterfeits. Beware of tjgem. Touch none of them. AN ALARvrTW* DEHCAW AFFECIINQ A NUMEROUS CLASS. The diseass connaeneea witk • alight derangement 6fthe stomach, bat if neglected, ii in time involves tb* whole frame, embracing the kidneys, liver, pranoreas, and, in fact, the entire glandnlarsyctena, and the afflicted drag* out a miserable existence an til death girej relief from •uffering. The di*ease is often Mistaken for other conplattiU ; but if the readei will Mk himself the fallowing questions, he will be able to determine whether he himself it one of the afflicted i— Have I di«tre«s, paiii, or difficulty in breathing after eating t Ithere a dull heavy feeling attended by drowsiness t Have the eyes a yellow tinge t Doei a thick, sticky, mucous gather about the gums and teeth in the mornings, accompanied >j a disagreeable taste f Is the tongue coated ? Is there pains in the sides and back? Is there a fulness about the fright tide as if the liver were enlarging f Is there eostireoess P Is there vertigo or dizziness when rising suddenly from a horizontal position ' Are the secretions from the kidenys scanty and highly coloured, with a deposit after standing t Does food ferment toon after eating, accompanied by flatulence or a belching of gas from the stornao'i f Is there frequent palpitation of the hettrt t Ibese various sjraptoms may not be present at one time, but they torment the rufftrer in turn ns the dreadful disease progresses. If the ease be one of long standing, there will be a ry, hacking cough, attended after a time by expectoration. In very advanced stages the skin assumes a dirty brownish appearance, and the bunds and feet are covered by a cold, c'icky perspiration. As the liter and kidneys become more and more dincased, rheumatic pain* appear, and the u»u»l treatment prove* entirely unavailing against this latter ng>nieine disorder. The oiijin of this malad? is indigestion or dy«rwp-ia, and a smalj quantity of the proper medicine will romo'e the disease if taken in it« incipiency. «It : s most important that the di«ea«* should be promptly ami prope-ly treated in its first stages, when a little medicine will eftVt a <ure, and even when it has obtained a ttrpng hold the correct remedy should be persevered in until ev*»y vestige of the disease is eradicated, until the appetite n«» returned, and the digestive organs restored to a heathlj condition.
