A CAT-ASTBOPHE.
A singular occurrence took place a t 3 Millroan Place, Millman street, Holbom, the other day. It appears t iat Mr Ashton, a law-writer, heard a gr »t noise in the passage, and on his go ng to ice the cause he fonnd bis own Muck torn cat and two others there. out into the street, and was met by two police sergeants, who anding him bleeding vei-y ranch, aii'i nearly exhfiustr.l, conveyed him to the Royal Free Hospital, where his woonds were dressed, after which he was removed home. On the police entering the house they foand Mrs Ashton, the mother of the wounded man had also to be taken to the Boyal Free Hospital. The police sergeants on their return to the house, finding the cars still in possession set to work to eject them. The cats, however, showed fight, although the constables were *nned with their batons, and eventually -two of them were killed and the third escaped. -
