Such of the reees* s at the sides of the hall as were not required for refreshment buffets were farnishud as cosy little drawing rooms, each in a different style, and at the upper end of the room a raised plat form was also abundantly supplied with sofas, chairs, and lounged. A bjauti fully decorated corridor led from ttie niaiu entrance of tbe Exhibition to the ball room, dressing rooms for ladies and gentlemen opening off in close to the entrance door. A portion of the Exhibition building was used as a supper room. Ilia Excellency the Governor, Lady Jurvois, Miss Jervoia, Major Geueral Sir Peter Scratchley, and Major Ecdes, A.D.C., were present during the evening, and Sir Julius Yogel was also able to be piesent. Dancing was commenced at 8.80, and was continued until an early hoar in the morning.
