In the House this afternoon, Mr Seddon asked Government whether they would take into consideration the question of issuing new regulations in regard to the diseoveiv of goldfields and prospecting for gold. Mr Lsivnach in reply sud he hal not considered the matter, l>ut was p'tfectly willing to allow it to go to the Mines' Committee. The 'Frisco mail service question was reported from Committe, and although the matter had been threshed our, Mr Macandrew started a debate and moved to reduce the amount from i':?o,o{>o to € 10,000. This was rejected, and eventually, the motion as reported from Committee of the whole was agreed to. The Mines Act 1877 Amendment Pill w:is reported from Committee and rend a third tini<> and passed. This was all the afternoon business. The House will sit on Monday evening, when the Natives Lands Disposition Dill will l>e taken. The East and West Coast Hail way matter comes on on Tuesday. In flic House af. the eveningsitting — The Stump Act Amendment Bill, and Deceased Persons'* Estate Bill Duties' Act Amendment Bill were road a third time and passed. The Fisheries' Encouragement Act was read a second time. The committal of the Charitable Aid Bill was postponed.
