Wiiile the opevationswe** on a spoi-tsman accompanied W his dog appeai'ed on the scene, and as the charge was thromj into the lake tbe animal sp;i»ng into tbe water, and seized the explosive, which it brought asbcre. Tbe sportsm&n shouted to the dog tc dvop the substance, but the anima] ran in the clirection of its master, end the erperimentalists inade off, the dog being kept at \xy by fa*3 mMter and others with a contiuoocv* shower of stones.
