Of the prodigious quantity of fuel — 380,000,000 tons a year— Europe j alone produces 285.000,000, the United _ States nearly 90.000,000, and tbe comparatively insignificant remainder falls to the share of A sia and Australia. \ Great Britain exports about 20,000,000 t of her production of 163.000,000 tons ; - Germany exports 10,000,000 tons of 70,000.000 tons; Belgium exports j 5,000,000 tons of her 18,000.000 tons. -, Austria abont suffices herself with a \ production of 16,000,000 tons ; France, however, has to import some 10,000, [ 000 to her production of about 20, , 000,000 tons.
