Miss KittoAi has been appointed by the Cronariuu School Committee to the position of mistress of the newly established public school -there. Our mining report, correspondence, and other local matter is held over. A petition ha* been signed by all the householders in the Bank of New Zealand block, Broadway, with one exception, requesting the Government, to make a resurvey of the sections with a view to con necting them with the trigonometrical system. A similar request respecting the other business blocks in town will be made. Duties will be resumed this morning at the State and Catholic Schools respect ively. Tenders are invited by Mr G.
