The inland j which it is proposed to be annexed to i Great Britain, as a set-off to the French occupation of the Hebrides is not Raitea, but Rapa, or Oparo, an island directly on the track between Panama and Australia. A circular has l>een issued to the Governments of the various Australasian Colonies by the Premier, Sir Patrick Jennings, stating that the Government of New South Wales is not disposed to take any action in opposition to the negotiations now going on with regard to the New Hebrides question, provided that France gives the necessary guarantee not to deport recedivisfces to the Pacific Islands. A warrant was issued to-day at the instance of private creditors for the apprehension of Mr Holt.
