RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
I • (Before F. Bird, Esq., R.M. Thursday, April Ist, 1886. Ching v. Bsbrn. Judgment summons, calling upon defendant to show eahse why he had failed to comply with a judgment of tbe Court Defendant did not appear and an order was made for the payment of the amount in instalments of £2 monthly, in default one month's imprisonment. Mr North for plaintiff Globe Cc. v. Ashbvry. Claim for £9 6s 6d, being balance due upon shares forfeited and sold by auction. Judgment by default for the amount and costs. Moor v. Aixen. This was a disputed boundary case, the parties being the holders of adjoining sections in Broadway. Mr North appeared for defendant. A pcint arose as to the jurisdiction cf tbe Court upon the question of title, and by consent tho case was adjourned till next Court day, to enable His Worship to look up a recent ruling of tho Appoal Court on the point. Dovsing v. J. Moor. Claim for £21 upon a judgment summons. Mr North for plaintiff. The plaintiff deponed to the oircnmstances under whioh the debt was contracted, and asked for an order for the payment of the amount in instalments. Defendant was examined at some length by Mr North, as to his ability to satisfy the ckim.
His Worship refused to make any order, adjourning the matter to a future date in order to give defendant an opportunity of making an offer of settlement.
