Bowen, Chairman of the railway guarantors, has cabled Home to Scott for details of the contract made with syndicate. Yogel telegraphs the Mayor advising that the demonstration should not be held until after the contract is signed. Mitchell, whose carpet factory near Ohristchurch war burnt down the other day, has been arrested for arson. It is thought that the body found at tne Taiaroa wreck with a large sum of money on it is that of James Fergusson, who is known to have had LIOO on him to pay the expenses of a pleasnre trip.
