A general cleaning up took place at the battery this afternoon, the total figures for the crushing being 8520z& of retorted gold from 540 tons of stone, or an average yield per ton for the entire parcel of something over 13d*t. This is a highly satisfactory return, dne regard being had to the exceptionally good facilities possessed by the company for economic working. Owing to the breaking of one of the cams daring the crushing five head of the stampers have been linng up daring the time, and bnt for this the returns would have been still larger, there being ample stone to keep the fall num her of stampers in work. The directors met to-night and declared a dividend of six»pence per share.
