VENUS EXTENDED.
The new wire cable for the aerial tramway was delivered at the machine site on Wednesday last, and bands were at once set to work to place it in position. j3ome few alterations were rendered necessary to the line owing to the fact of the rope being a trifle longer than the last one, bnt there is every likelihood that these will be effected in time to allow the battery to be started on Monday next. Tenders are invited for driving 500 ft of tunnel, to close on Saturday next. Offers are also invited for the purchase of 6000 ft of old atreel rope. ROYAL OAK. At a meetiug of held on Thursday last it was decided to commence operations in the mine forthwith, and the necessary staff for that purpose baa since been organised.
