P&qpbkty— A Goto Mining Lemi or 15a. Ir €p., Boatman's C&ru, County of liuutgahua. The proprietors of the above lease have determined t<» proceed as prmnptfy as possible to open up and develop the reef tn this ground, tlu* existence of which >>eiug wf a satisfactorily auriferous eliaracter, is sliovn by the favorable show of «old obtained at various times ou theturface on the line of tvet The uudertakiug being of greater magnitude tftau tk« uieaus of the present proprietors will allow— though of smtii extent i» the case of a eoiupany — as propoasd, offer a portion <>f the shares tv the public at one shilling per share, «ad twwediately the shares are allotted a meeting of the shareholders will be called to elect a Directory, and the Company will be then Registered and work commenced. This tinning lease was f«r«erly known a« th 4 Lucky Hit, the boundaries being identical. It is fair on the line of reef, which tn its coutiuuoua N. *nd 8. course contains the Homeward Bound mine at its ciorth cud, then, successively, south the .Eureka, Welcome, Hopeful, Fiery Cross, Walhalla, Just-iu Time, Reform, South Hopeful, Chicago, Muitum in Parvo, Lone Star, iiritauuia, ttritatinia Extended. The first seven <rf these mines Jyiug north ot Batman's Creek, and the last six south of the Creek, <«a the high range between Bnattuan's Creek and the | Left-luuid Branch of the luangahua. The suceeM of many of these tuiues being jso well known, it requires no particular .accouut of here, beyond poiuting out the fact that the mining leases south of the Creek have during the but few month* •only, had any attention paid to them iv the way of prospecting, and that only of a limited nature, compatible with the weans 4»t small parties of prospectors. The success of these limited operations has been demonstrated, notably ia the case of the Lone Star, which mine lies south about 400 feet of the Chicago. The Luiie Star by a comparatively small expenditure have opened a mine the market value of which at present is £0000, (vide late sales), »nd doubtless with judicious expenditure of a small amount of capital on other leases in that locality similarly satisfactory result* Are to be obtained, aud the wealth of this hitherto neglected portion of the Poat man's line of reef broagfat to light tv the benefit of the adventaren. The grade of the surface in the Chicago allows the reef to be prospected by ahort tunnels— a great advantage over shaft workings. A tramway about 20 ehaius in ieugth would make connection with the Just-in-Titne and Fiery Cross batteries, where crushing could be performed at a moderate charge. The length of the lease on the line of rtef is 1,100 feet, and it waa pegged otf with the view to contain the reef at lower levels, allowing for strike and underlie. The deed of lease from the Government has been executed, and will lie deposited with the undersigned ai «gent for the proprietors, to be transferred to the company on it* registration. Shares will be allotted by the agent at they are applied for, therefore intending investors will do well tv apply promptly. All applications must be accompanied bj a deposit of one shilling per share. Messrs Deacon and Co., Wellington ; James Henderson, Christchurch: A.
