PROSPECTUS OF THE i CHICAGO GOLD MINING COMPANY, Limited. i Capital : £12,000, in £24,000 shares of IC* Each. 1 Property— A Goid Minixg Lease op 15a. lr. 6p., Boatman's Ckeek, County of Inangahua. The proprietor* of the above lease have determined to proceed as promptly as possible to open up and develop the reef in this ground, the existence of which being of a satisfactorily auriferous character, ia shown by the favorable show of void obtained at various times on the surface on the line of rtef. The undertaking being of greater magnitude than the means of the present proprietors will allow— though <>f small extent in the case of a company — as proposed, offer a portion of the shares to the public at one shilling per share, and immediately the shaves are allotted a meeting of the shareholders will be called to elect a Directory, and the ' Company will be then Registered fchd work commenced. This mining leas! was formerly known as the Lucky Hit, the boundaries being identical. It is fair on the line of reef, which in its continuous N. and 8. course contains the Homeward Bound mine at its north end, then, Mocessively, south the Eureka, Welcome, Hopeful, Fiery Cross, Walhalla, Just-in t?«At Reform, South Hopeful, Chicago, Multum in Parvo, Lone Star, Brifatfoia, Hritaunia Extended. The first seven of these mines lying north of Boatman's Creek, and the last six south of the Creek, on the high range between Boatman's Creek and the L«ft hand Branch of the Inanfifahua. The success of manjLof these mines being so well known, it requires no particular account of here, beyond pointing out the fact that the mininalws& south of the Creek have during ffhe last few months only, had any attentiomaid to them in the way of prospecting, apd that only of a limited nature, compatible with the means of small parties of prospectors. The success of these limited operations has been demonstrated, notably in the case of the Lone Star, which mine lies south about 400 feet of the Chicago. The Lone Star by a comparative^ small expenditure have opened a mine the market value of which at present is £6000, (vide late sales), and doubtless with judicious expenditure of a small amount of capital on other leases in that locality similarly satisfactory results are to be obtained, and the wealth of this hitherto neglecced portion of the Boat man's line of reef brought to light to the benefit of the adventurers. The grade of the surface in the Chicago allows the reef to be prosgected by short tunnels— a great advantage over shaft workings. A tramway abqut 20 chains in length would make connection with the Just-in-Time and Fiery Cross batteries, where crushing could bo performed at a moderate charge. The length of the lease on the line of reef is 1,100 feet, audit was pegged otf with the view to contain the reef nt lower levels, allowing for strike and underlie. The deed of lease from the Government has been executed, and will be deposited with the undersigned as agent for the proprietors, to be transferred to the company on its registration. Shares will be allotted by the agent as they are applied for, therefore intending investors will do we to apply promptly. N All applications must be accompanied by a deposit of one shilling per share. Mussrs Deacon and Co., Wellington ; James Henderson,! Christchurch : A. G.
