INSPECTOR'S REPORT.

CROWN TERRACE SCHOOL. At the annual examination of the abova school held on the 17th October, 1896, 90 per cent of passes was obtained. The following is the Inspector's report : Class Subjects. Grammer—Good in Standard 3; little has been done in Standard 4 and Standard 5. History—Well-known so far as studied. Elementary Science and Object lessonsSatisfactory. Mental Arithmetic—Fair. Additional Subjects. Poetry—Fair. Extension Exercises—Good. Comprehension of Language of Reading Lessons.—Very fair. Considering the intermittent attendance of many of the Standard pupils before the establishment of this school in Jant, very substantial progress has been made under Miss Wilkins and a good examination has been passed. The behaviour of the pupils is entirely satisfactory. ~" James Hendry, Inspector.
