The town of Lachute, tho chief town of Argentonill Country, Qa .bee, has been destroyed It is feared many lives havo beon lost. In OMawa a grand jury found true bills against Messrs Thoraa3 McGreevy and Conolly, on a charge of defrauding the Government. Pobt-au-Pbinoe, January 9. A plot has beon discovered m America to equip a man-of-war, with the object of overthrowing General Hippolyto, President of Hayli.
