+ . THE DUKE OF CLARENCE'S CONDITION. MORTALITY ON THE CONTINENT. SCABCITY OF COFFINS [united press association.] Received January 13, noon. London, January 12. The Duke of Clarence's illness pursues a somewhat severe character. The Official Bulletin announces that the sufferer's strength is well maintained, but his condition has not improved. Sir Francis. Knollys, Private Secretary to the Prince of Wales, two of the Prinoe'E equerries, and several other members of his household are prostrated by influenza. Lord and Lady Brooks and many of the aristocracy are suffering from influenza, and three hundred men of the Grenadier Guards have been laid low by it. News from the Continent states that m the hospitals m Munich yesterday 112 persons died of influenza. . Half the population of Dunkirk are suffering from the malady, which is decreasing m severity m Berlin and Vienna. The stock of coffins m Copenhagen is exhausted. Received January 13, 2.20 p.m. Lonbon, January 12. A Bulletin issued this evening states that there is no marked change m the condition of the Duke of Clarence, though he is somewhat better. "It is worth its weight m gold," is a common expression. But, while the value of gold is easily affected, the worth of Ayer's Sarasparilla as a blood purifier, never depreciates. It eradicates scrofula from the system.
