At the first of the season's wool sales to day about 5000 bales were offered to a good attendance of buyers, the home manufacturers being represented as strongly as at last year's sale 3. The sale on the - whole was satisfactory from a growers point of view, but there has been a considerable dec' ine m values m London. Fine halffere Is brought as high prices as last year, some brands even more, which wns-due m some measure to their being lighter m grease. The top price for fine half-bred was lid, average from 10$ to 9d, fine crossbreds 3d to lOd. . Those of rough description and sappy brought 7} to Od, merino 3 m poor demand, and most of the lots passed were of this description. Light m grease and good staple brought Bd, other sorts 6d ' t0 7 * d '
