THE WELLINGTON ELECTION.
♦ — — [united press assocution.] Wellington, January 13. As Friday draws near interest m the election thickens, and the contest promises ■' to be as keeD as any ever seen here. Mr McLean held the last of his meeting m the Opera House last night, the Premier, and the Hon Mr Reeves speaking, as well as himself. He addressrs a mass meeting on the reclaimed land to-morrow night, for which great preparations are being made. Mr Bell addresses two meetings to-night. Gigantic Committee meetings of both candidates are being held pretty well every evening to clear the flecks, and geteveything m fighting trim. Both sides profess u£ most csnfidence.
