OLDER MACHINES HAVE BUT
LITTLE CHANCE.

Mr Beach Thomas states that the new air-fighting is most:-wonderful., fhe latest machines on both sides ievelop almost breathless speed,] swishing like birds or flying at; viewr.. less heights till one div.es. wiugedandl wounded for its own lines. The fighting is now so quick and skilful. ~ that ,tW slower and older machines have little chance. The newest British machine, has. broken all records, destroying five enemy, machines in one flight. Machines now drop from clouds plummet-Uke* 16,000 feet to bomb a tram,:set fir© t»'a balloon, or riddle troops with* machme-gum: They come so qtucMyj that men on tho spot with loaded rifles are too slow to fire hefore theji plane out of range. Both sides exhibit .uncanny skill- in ambushins ■■ in or. escaping amongst the clouds.
