The Marlborougli quota for the Twenty-eight, Reinforcements . 4 proceeded to Wellington yesterday,' the majority of its ■ members leaving Blenheim by tlio „ afternoon train. The draft 'comprised 38 men, 35 of whom embarked "*«it Picton, the renlai^ing three being expected to join up at .Wellington. . ' Twenty-seven members; of the draft lined up in Market Place yesterday" afternoon and were accorded a civic farewell in the presence of a large gathering. The National Reserve were on parade, with . the Tenth Mounted Regimental Band and members of the Reserve Band. The-'speakers were the BeputyMayqr and Mr R. In accordance with custom, each of the men leaving for the front was given "a book of tickets in the MarlbOrough art union. Referring to this gift,,the Deputy-JVlaypr said that the object in view was to present every Maryborough member1 of tlfe Expeditioriai"y Foi*ces with a similar chance ,ef winning o.ne of the valuable prizes offered. The subscriptions received for the purpose were not yet sufficient, and he appealed to the public for further donations. In assisting this aim they would be not only marking their appreciation of the brave men who were fighting for them, but also giving material help to the patriotic funds, to which tho proceeds of the art union would be devoted. ■ <
