GREIG—EYLES.

A quiet but pretty wedding was ' celebrated by the Rev. B. F. Roth-

well on Tuesday, April 3rd, at the residence of the" bride's parents, the contracting parties being Lily, third daughter of Mr* and Mrs W. N. JOyles, of St. Andrew's, Blenlieim, and Private John Murray Greig, of the 25th Reinforcements. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a dress of fine white embroidered voile, and - wore the usual veil and orange blossoms, and carried a bridal bouquet composed of *'British Queen" roses, crested ■begonias, geraniums,' and maidepi-hair fern, a gift of Miss- Aberhart, cousin of the bride. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Lavinia Greig, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Elsie Holdaway, cousin of the bride, ( both wearing pretty frocks of white yoile and hats of black velvet, lined with, white satin and trimmed with satin daisies. Both bridesmaids carried bouquets composed of pinks, belladonna lilies, roses, heath, and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom's . gift to the bride was a handsome gold wristlet watch; the oride's gift to the bridegroom was a silver shaving outfit. The bridegrom presented' the . bridesmaids with gold patriotic brooches, set with rubies. The bride was attended by Mr Norman Hold- j way, a retarned soldier and a cousin of the bride, as . best man. "The Voice that breathed o'er Eden" was played by » Miss Let by Holdaway. After the ceremony ihe relatives of the bride and bridegroom were entertained at afternoon tea by the biude's parents, and after fche usual toasts \ had been duly honored the happy couple ~ left by the afternoon train. The honeymoon will be spent in the North Island. The bride travelled in a tailor-made costume of navy serge, trimmed with military braid, , ana white hat en suite. The young received a collection of] useful and valuable presents, including a silver and cut-glass honey jar from the Methodist Choir, -of'which the bride was a member for some years.
