FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.

«. Section 5.3 of " The Harbours Act, 1878,' says :— "Every 13oard shall hold a meeting at noon on the third Monday in the month of January in each year, at the office of the Board. At such meeting the accounts of the Hoard for the past year, duly audited and certified as hereinafter provided, shall be laid before the meeting, and, if the same shall be adopted, a balance sheet framed therefrom shall be published at least three times in some one or more newspapers circulating at the port for which such Harbour Board is constituted." Through some error the meeting referred to was not called for the date required by law. It will, however, take place early next week, and steps will probably then' be taken to comply, with the section of the Act already quoted. The usual meetings were held at Wellington, Lyttelton, Dnnedin, and other large port.?,
