! (BY TELEGRAPH.) (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Chbistchurch, Jan. 2. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of George Williams, who, last Saturday, passed forged cheques purporting to be signed by Hoe and Co. on seven tradesmen m town. The amounts ranged from £5 to £7 a total of £40, drawn on the New South Wales, National, and Australian Banks. WiU Hams has disappeared and the police have no idea of his whereabouts.
