WANGANUI STOCK QUOTATIONS.
The business done during the past fortnight has been very limited, the continued 3ry weather preventing any oparations m stock. At Waverley a large number of sheep were penned, but the bulk had to be turned out unsold. The welcome rain this afternoon, should it continue, will make some alteration m the stock trade, though the out-look, except for beef, is not very encouraging. The almost total failure of the turnip crop must reduce the fattening capabilities of the district j hence during tbe ensuing winter 1 expect fat stock to sell higher than for some years past. Cattle.— -Fat cows, L 4 5s to L 4 10s. Sheep — Fat wethers, medium quality, 8s ; ewes and lambs, 10s ; inferior ewes, 6s. Horses.— Dull of sale, and almost impossible to sell, even at low rates
