After proceeding 1 a conple of miles, he said, tf ( for Good's sake pull, boys, pull,".and turned on his knees. .The men thought: he was sleeping, but m a few minutes 'turrie'd and' looked 1 at him, when they found he was dead. They immediately returned to 'Guiritownlj^here an jnrquest was 1 held on. the follbwing Saturday, Mr; ; 'Wi'gmore, J:P., wnen a • Verdict of" Death from natural causes — supposed heart-disease/ was returned. Hays hadbeen a, lonjj time m NewZ^aiahdi-i-SOor 40 s jears. He lived mostly with: the natives, nevsr working steadily any length of time with Europeans. '
