A despatch from Mozambique announces that the French steamer Eloiae sailed from Nossi Be to Ibo, to ship labourers. The natives, all armed, assembled to prevent the Frenph from making contracts. The Portuguese military intervened, but the natives resisted, and were routed,^ only aitet having lost 75 killed and wounded. The Eloise re* turned to Nossi Be without having accomplished her object.
