On the night of the 25th we had such a down pour of rain as never was wit nessnd before by the oldest settler m Foxton. So great was the flood m the Mftin-street, that the house occupied by Mr Bonjamin Pepper was nearly washed away. There was a large hole burrowed at the corner of hia house, about 15 feet by 10.
