He leaves a lar^e family by a former marriage. Deceased was a highly respected officer. Blenheim, June 29. Mrs Dodson, wife ot Mr Dodson, M.H.K. for Wairau, died this morning. Dunbdin, Jane 28. At the Harbour Bo ird tj-day, Mr Robs, into whose charge the big dredge was recently given, reported upon his first ri*it to her. He said after she was half full the *tuff ran oat a* fast as it was pat m, and over an hour's work was done by the buckets without anything being shown for it. He had taken steps to have the dredge pat m proper order, and was confident she would do the work. Messrs Burt and Pateraon, the Government representatives,! ntitnated that they hail resigned, and the f rnaer expressed himself ' strongly about the want of proper a»acMnes. ; At the Supreme Court to-day ar«unieat was heard m Johnston v Land Board, m which the former asks for a writ of mandamus to compel the Board to issue to him a pastoral def rred-pay-ment license 'or lan>l bought at the recent sale.
