Barora ter, fnrther rise generally, but falling at all place 3 south of Lyttelton after 16 hours, and later at; all other places. Sea, moderate on both coasts. Synopsis of last 48 hours : Northward of Napier and New Plymouth the barometer has continued to rise steadily, but everywhere else it fell slowly until midnight on Saturday, and since then it has risen about three-tenths. Strong northerly winds were experienced at most places south of Napier and New Plymouth until late on Saturday, and on Sunday there was a fresh- southerly gale on. the coast between Lyttelton and the East Cape.
