It undermines the Godhead ot Christ, and be who takes the pledge and breaks it, weakens the boi-ds of society. Tender consciences fear to break it, thus often sacrificing their health and entailing a burthen upon others.' The temperauce pledge fl both unscripa tural and heretical.
