LIBEL CASE.
; We learn that Dr Rockstrow has already been served with a writ claiming £1000 damages for alleged libel on Mi* J no. McLemian, of Oioua Downs, contained m some remarks made at a recent meeting of the Manawntu County Council, to which the plaintiff takes objection,* .; The, case is to be heard m Wellington next January, and the plaintiff will be represented by Mr Travel's, m conjunction with whom Messrs, Hankins and Baker are acting. The defendant will appear m person. Some; rather remarkable evidence m anticipated, when the plaintift's witnesses are under cross-examination by the defendant, on which account the hearing is looked forward to with som« interest.
