Mr Falloon waited on tha Council, aud after a lengthened debate, the following resolution was passed : — Proposed by Cr Macarthur, seconded by Cr Sly and carried— That tho trans 1 fer of Haryey and Walloon's lease to Falloon be agreed . , to subject to the following conditions :^-\Cjiat the deposit of £20 be. returned and, one, pound per acre be paid 'oh the., ferry tolls being ' given up, and one pound • per acre on the JEtushfalling* -being. -finished as provided by articles 13 ; and 14. of the lease to the satisfaction of the County Engineer, The. boats, punt, and ptherr ; gear to be taken oyer as provided byj article; 11 of the. lease at the same tiniej The, dthi'r pound, to be paid, over/ on the Ferry Reserve being given; up at the end of the same year, with feuce, &c, iii ; gobd order, the reserve well sown with English grass. TJ*e ; lessee to give up' the lease of Ferry ..tpjLl?. not sooner than "2 years and J*, months, from Ist January, 1884, or at any time after that date on the bridge being completed arid open for traffic. . The lessee to retain the use of the. . ferry reserve free of rent till the .time mentioned as the expiration of the present lease.
