At the inquest on the body of John Stevenson, 1 who died suddenly at the Farmers' Arms Hotel, it 'was shown that be had" come to Otago m the' first ship m 1848. He had been drinking heavily since the New Year. Jt was jthoHght that owing to weakness and ;his c having eaten very little the heart's action had stopped, and a yerdict accordingly was returned.
